Il Dutch National Ballet apre l'Amsterdam Dance Event il prossimo ottobre a Gashouder con lo spettacolo Swan Lake Remixed for ADE
As part of the 30 YEARS ADE Icon Series: a spectacular new dance production by Dutch National Ballet and ISH Dance Collective at Gashouder, bringing together ballet, hip-hop dance and electronic music around one of the most iconic ballets of all time.
On Wednesday 21 October, Swan Lake Remixed for ADE by Dutch National Ballet and ISH Dance Collective is part of the cultural opening programme of Amsterdam Dance Event (ADE) 2026. This large-scale live experience brings together classical ballet, hip-hop dance, electronic music and digital art in the monumental setting of Gashouder.
New relevance and urgency
Themes from Swan Lake , such as longing, freedom, temptation and the tension between light and darkness, are given new relevance and urgency at Gashouder. After all, the questions at the heart of this famous ballet may be more relatable today than ever: how can you be who you want to be? Which temptations do you give in to? And how do you find your own way between the pull of darkness and the longing for light?
Dancers from Dutch National Ballet and the Junior Company, performers from ISH Dance Collective and established guest dancers from different dance worlds join forces in this production, in which tradition and innovation challenge and enrich one another. A physical, compelling and one-off experience during ADE 2026.
With Swan Lake Remixed for ADE , Dutch National Ballet and ISH Dance Collective build on productions such as GRIMM and Dorian, in which they have previously shown how classical ballet and hip-hop dance can challenge, complement and strengthen one another.
Milestones
This one-off project is a collaboration – the first on this scale – between Amsterdam Dance Event, Gashouder, Dutch National Ballet, ISH Dance Collective and concept and production agency XSAGA. Their different worlds and areas of expertise come together around one of the most iconic ballets ever created: Swan Lake.
Swan Lake Remixed for ADE is part of the 30 YEARS ADE Icon Series at Gashouder. The production also coincides with several other special milestones: 150 years of Swan Lake (in 2027), 10 years of collaboration between Dutch National Ballet and ISH Dance Collective, and 25 years of XSAGA.
The dance production is part of the 30 YEARS ADE Icon Series: a cultural programme of exceptional events across ADE’s various strands, reflecting on both the history and future of electronic music culture. It celebrates the connection between legends and emerging talent, between past and future, and between our collective culture and the shared experiences that continue to drive us forward.
